A New Coffee That Combines Environmental Protection and High Quality
In today’s world, where climate change poses a significant challenge, environmentally conscious production methods are increasingly important. Overview Coffee Japan is committed to offering coffee produced using regenerative organic farming practices that protect soil and preserve ecosystems. The newly launched “LATIN AMERICA – Nicaragua SACACLI Cooperative” is a prime example of these efforts, being the first coffee to earn RO Certification, making it a milestone in sustainable coffee production.
The SACACLI Cooperative in Nicaragua was established in 1994 by 31 producers and now includes more than 500 members. The cooperative prioritizes soil, environmental, and community protection while maintaining high-quality coffee production. Through Regenerative Organic Certification, the cooperative contributes to mitigating climate change while ensuring a consistent supply of premium coffee.
This new product features the rare “Maragogipe” variety of coffee beans. Known for its sensitivity to its growing environment, this variety produces a rich, nutty flavor and sweet, fruity notes when grown in fertile soils. Light roasting enhances the aromas of walnut, fig, and apple tea, offering a truly unique coffee experience.
Regenerative Organic farming is a method aimed at reversing climate change by sequestering carbon in the soil and regenerating farmland ecosystems. It is seen as a critical approach to achieving both environmental protection and sustainable agriculture. By offering coffee grown using this method, Overview Coffee Japan is contributing to the preservation of the planet. Additionally, the company participates in the “1% for the Planet” initiative, donating 1% of its sales to environmental conservation organizations, further promoting efforts to protect the natural environment.
