IE University has announced the establishment of “IE New York College (IENYC)” in New York’s Soho district. This new college, focused on business and sustainability, will become a key part of IE University’s global educational network expansion.

IE University plans to launch IENYC by taking over the operations of Glasgow Caledonian New York College (GCNYC), which has been operating in New York since 2017 as a non-profit educational institution. The name change is currently pending approval from the New York State Education Department.

GCNYC has offered numerous graduate programs centered on social impact and sustainability. With IE University assuming control, IENYC aims to enhance these programs further and establish itself as a hub for nurturing professionals who can excel globally in business and sustainability.
The new master’s program in “Business for Social Impact and Sustainability” is scheduled to start in January 2025, with other programs to be announced later. These programs will leverage IE University’s global network and partnerships with organizations such as the United Nations, providing students with opportunities to learn from a multifaceted perspective.
Although IE University and IENYC will operate as separate institutions, there will be transfer agreements and exchange programs to strengthen collaboration and offer students the chance to study in New York, a city rich in economic and cultural diversity.
Diego del Alcázar, Chairman of IE University, stated that the establishment of IENYC not only creates a new educational hub focused on business and sustainability but also contributes to the strengthening of the global education network. Jacqueline LeBlanc, Vice President of GCNYC, expressed enthusiasm for expanding social impact using IE University’s resources and network.
