Updater Corporation (Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, President: Eiji Oishi) has announced its sponsorship of Kyoko Koizumi’s nationwide tour, “TOUR 2024 BALLAD CLASSICS,” supporting a carbon offset project. The tour, which spans 16 cities across Japan with 21 performances, will run from October 26 to December 21, 2024.

Towards a Sustainable Future: Reducing CO2 Emissions Through Live Concerts

This initiative aligns with Updater’s ongoing sustainability efforts, aiming to reduce the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions associated with the entire tour through carbon offsetting. Additionally, the stage sets will be built using traceable lumber, which will be upcycled after the tour, minimizing the environmental impact.
Kyoko Koizumi has been the host of TBS Radio’s “SustainaBar” since April 2024, delivering messages about a sustainable future to listeners. The commencement of the carbon offset project for the tour was also announced on the show’s October 12 broadcast.
With the support of Updater, CO2 emissions from the tour’s operations, including electricity consumption at the venues, transportation, and accommodation for performers and staff, will be calculated and offset through the purchase of J-Credits. This will render the entire tour carbon-neutral. Moreover, the stage sets will be constructed using traceable wood, which will later be upcycled into “Forest-Friendly Cat Litter.”
Kyoko Koizumi’s “TOUR 2024 BALLAD CLASSICS” will take place in various cities across Japan, incorporating Updater’s sustainable initiatives. Concert and ticket information is available on the special website.
