toshitechno Corporation, in collaboration with Kōjinkai Medical Corporation, hospital marketing summit JAPAN, and Musashino Art University, will host the “Lotus Care Center Demolition Festival – A Story of New Beginnings Connecting with the Community” on October 26 and 27, 2024, in Funabashi, Chiba. The event redefines demolition as a new start, celebrating the future of Lotus Care Center alongside local residents over two days of engaging activities.
Demolition as a New Beginning: Celebrating the Community and Facility’s Future
Demolition is often viewed as the end of a building’s life, but for Lotus Care Center, it marks the beginning of a new chapter, strengthening ties with the local community. The center has been beloved by multiple generations, and after demolition, a new facility more connected to the community will rise.
The two-day festival will offer various activities that invite both residents and staff to come together. Highlights include the return of the “Lotus Bon Dance,” a beloved tradition revived after four years, celebrating both the past and the new beginning. Another key feature is “Graffiti Project,” where visitors, young and old, can freely draw on the walls of the soon-to-be-demolished center. Additionally, there will be a photo booth where guests can take pictures with the excavators used in the demolition process.
Other activities include an interactive timeline displaying the history of the facility and an exhibition on recycled concrete, showcasing how demolition debris is repurposed for future use. The event underscores that demolition is not the end but rather the start of something new.
Following the demolition, part of the new facility will be revealed, and community-focused activities like health exercises and design conferences will be held, encouraging further interaction between the center and local residents. Lotus Care Center is set to evolve, continuing to play a vital role in the community by supporting local well-being and growth.
