REMARE Corporation will host its exhibition “Tunnel Vision” from December 14 to 18, 2024, at 24PILLARS in Nagoya. This event aims to inspire awareness of environmental issues through art created from recycled plastic, offering a fresh perspective on a sustainable future.

A Space to Reflect on Sustainability: Highlighting the Potential of Recycled Materials

In today’s society, while environmental concerns are pressing, their significance is often overlooked. REMARE Corporation’s “Structure Survive” initiative aims to visualize environmental challenges through art and design, utilizing recycled plastic materials. The exhibition “Tunnel Vision” invites visitors to pause and reconsider their relationship with environmental issues.
The showcase includes furniture and art pieces crafted from composite plastic scraps, materials that would otherwise be discarded. These items are reimagined into sustainable designs, demonstrating new possibilities for what would typically be considered waste. Collaborations with the art unit HOME ECONOMICS EXPERIMENT and Good Day Mate further expand the potential of recycled materials, offering innovative products for exhibition and sale.
One highlight of the exhibition is the “Rethoglyph,” a futuristic record medium made from recycled plastic. Serving as both an art piece and a functional item, it embodies the fusion of sustainability and creativity.
The venue, 24PILLARS, is a creative space operated by Nagoya-based woodworking studio DaLa mokko. Known for its craftsmanship in custom-made furniture, DaLa mokko combines artisanal techniques with a commitment to sustainable practices, providing a fitting backdrop for this exhibition.
“Tunnel Vision” presents a new lens through which to address environmental challenges and explore the possibilities of a sustainable future. Visitors will engage with messages conveyed through design and art, offering a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the planet’s next chapter.
