Morgenrot Medical Corporation has obtained a patent for key technology related to AI avatar-based patient intake, addressing the issue of long working hours for physicians. This aims to reduce patient wait times and improve customer satisfaction.
A Significant Step in Digital Transformation in Healthcare
Morgenrot has been advancing technology development for AI avatar-based patient intake with the goal of reducing the workload on physicians and enhancing the patient experience. On July 10, 2024, the company’s patent for the “Medical Management Device and Medical System” was officially registered, marking a significant step in digital transformation within the healthcare sector. This technology allows for the automatic collection of necessary intake information using AI, thus reducing the burden on physicians.
The company began a trial implementation of this technology at “Kashiwa Everyone Clinic” in May 2024. It is also scheduled to be introduced at “Ariake Children’s Clinic Toyosu Branch” in October, with expectations of significantly reducing patient wait times. Additionally, interactions with the AI avatar are anticipated to contribute to privacy protection and infection prevention.
Recently, the issue of long working hours for physicians has been highlighted as a social problem. The aging society and diverse medical needs have increased the burden on physicians. With the enforcement of the Working Style Reform for Physicians in April 2024, the upper limit for overtime work has been set at 960 hours, pressing many medical facilities to comply. However, data indicates that 21.2% of physicians still exceed this limit, underscoring the urgent need for a sustainable healthcare environment.
In this context, Morgenrot’s AI avatar-based patient intake system is expected to greatly contribute to alleviating the burden on physicians. By automating the process from intake to chart creation, physicians will be able to obtain patient information more quickly before consultations, resulting in reduced consultation times and improved quality of care.
Shorter wait times will reduce patient stress and increase satisfaction. The use of AI technology will streamline consultations and enable multilingual support, thereby enhancing services for foreign patients.
Morgenrot’s Chairman, Hiroyuki Kogure, commented, “The acquisition of this patent is a crucial step towards improving healthcare efficiency and patient satisfaction.” The company will continue to promote the integration of healthcare and IT and advance efforts toward achieving sustainable healthcare.
Morgenrot operates multiple clinics in Tokyo’s waterfront area and Kashiwa, Chiba Prefecture, focusing on healthcare services in collaboration with the local community. While working on improving diagnostic and treatment processes using AI technology, the company is also committed to creating a more favorable work environment for healthcare professionals. Morgenrot plans to continue introducing innovative technologies and maintaining its commitment to balancing quality and efficiency in healthcare.
