The R&D team of “TOKYO NODE,” a communication hub operated by Mori Building Co., Ltd. at Toranomon Hills, will host the “TOKYO NODE OPEN LAB 2024” event from October 4–14, 2024, celebrating its first anniversary. This event will focus on exploring new urban experiences.
Theme: “EDGE” – Connecting the Lines of the City
“TOKYO NODE LAB” has been collaborating with companies and creators from various fields such as technology, art, and entertainment to create innovative urban experiences. “TOKYO NODE OPEN LAB 2024” will showcase these efforts, featuring a wide range of exhibitions, workshops, and talks centered around the theme of fusing the physical and digital aspects of urban life.
The main venue, located on the 8th floor of Toranomon Hills Station Tower, will present projects using cutting-edge technologies such as XR, digital twins, and volumetric video.
The theme of the event is “EDGE.” While “NODE” refers to points, “EDGE” symbolizes the connections between those points. This event aims to link people, technologies, and ideas within the city, expanding the scope of future urban experiences.
The event will showcase prototypes and ideas developed through “TOKYO NODE LAB” activities, offering visitors the chance to explore new possibilities for urban spaces. Through dialogue with participating companies and creators, new connections will emerge, paving the way for innovative urban experiences.
One of the event’s highlights will be the “XR PARADE,” an immersive exhibition created by members of the urban XR community “TNXR,” born from the “XR HACKATHON” held in February. Other key attractions include live streaming using volumetric video and a project that transforms the entire Toranomon area into a virtual space through digital twin technology.
Additionally, the “ANNUAL TALK” sessions will feature participating companies and creators discussing their projects, offering insights into the future of urban experiences.
Through this first-anniversary event, a new step toward the future of cities will be taken.
