Learning and Experiencing a Future of Coexistence with Nature at “Morigurashi FESTIVAL”

“Morigurashi FESTIVAL” is a hands-on event held in the Yatsugatake area of Nagano Prefecture, located within the Tenryu River Basin. At the Tokyu Resort Town Tateshina, managed by Tokyu Land Corporation and Tokyu Resorts & Stay, participants can enjoy programs centered around the region’s natural resources: forests, villages, rivers, and seas. The event is held in line with the Ministry of the Environment’s “Forest, Village, River, Sea Project,” advocating for a sustainable society through the concept of regional circular symbiosis.
This first “Morigurashi FESTIVAL” will primarily focus on forests. Participants will engage in activities such as thinning the forest, creating woodland paths, and a decarbonization game, all aimed at deepening their understanding of the relationship between humans and forests. In the evening, attendees can enjoy a “Forest Night Walk” or “Night Forest Adventure,” allowing them to fully experience nature both day and night.
The event has garnered support from environmentally-conscious companies and local municipalities, with around 180 participants expected to attend. Moving forward, additional events will explore the themes of “Village,” “River,” and “Sea,” with the aim of promoting sustainable lifestyles.
