Patagonia Japan will hold the “Regenerative Organic Conference 2024 Fall” online on October 10, 2024. The conference will focus on “Farmland Systems,” showcasing practical examples of regenerative organic agriculture, with a focus on advancing the movement in Japan.
Promoting Environmental Conservation through Regenerative Organic Agriculture
Outdoor brand Patagonia has been actively promoting the spread of Regenerative Organic (RO) agriculture, which aims to contribute to environmental conservation through farming. As part of this initiative, the company will host the “Regenerative Organic Conference 2024 Fall” on October 10, 2024. The conference will highlight one of the three pillars of RO certification, “Soil Health,” and will specifically focus on practical examples in farmland systems.
Regenerative agriculture is gaining attention as a vital method to sequester carbon in the soil, helping to mitigate climate change. However, due to the lack of a clear definition, the concept is often misunderstood, and there are concerns about greenwashing. In response, Patagonia established the “Regenerative Organic Certification” in 2017 to set clear standards for sustainable agricultural practices.
During the conference, practitioners will share their experiences with regenerative farming, and attendees will have the opportunity to learn practical methods and technologies. Regenerative agriculture is not only a means to protect the environment but also a crucial tool to enhance the sustainability of farming, driving positive change for the future.
