Sumitomo Forestry Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Toshio Mitsuyoshi) has announced the second installment of its new corporate advertising series, “Good NeighborWood – Let Forests and People Be Good Neighbors,” themed around decarbonization. Featuring actors Fumiyo Kohinata and Rikoto Itagaki, this new campaign aims to broadly communicate the value of forest protection, timber use, and wooden architecture.

Highlighting the Importance of Forest Protection and Timber Use in the Ads

Sumitomo Forestry’s “Good NeighborWood – Let Forests and People Be Good Neighbors” series symbolically depicts the relationship between forests and people. Following the positive response to the first installment, the second part of the series showcases advertisements filmed in New Zealand’s company-owned forests and timber processing plants, and modern wooden buildings in Dallas, USA. The ads continue to feature Fumiyo Kohinata and Rikoto Itagaki, presenting the relationship between “forests and people” from different perspectives.
This ad series consists of three parts: “Forest – New Zealand,” set against the backdrop of New Zealand’s forests; “Timber – New Zealand,” capturing the dynamic scenery of timber processing; and “Wooden Architecture – Dallas,” set in modern wooden buildings in Dallas. Each part conveys a message aimed at contributing to a sustainable society while leveraging the power of nature.
In conjunction with the corporate ads, Sumitomo Forestry has produced a web video series titled “SUMITOMO FORESTRY NEWS” to deepen understanding of its decarbonization efforts. The series consists of three parts: “What is the Correct Cycle of Forests?”, “Cities as Carbon Storages?”, and “Can Wooden Architecture Transform the World into Forests?”. Each video explains forest management practices, the carbon sequestration function of timber, and the future of wooden architecture.
Sumitomo Forestry has been actively working toward sustainable economics and society with a vision that connects “forests and people.” The “Good NeighborWood” series serves as a crucial medium for communicating the company’s commitment to environmental protection and a decarbonized society.
Sumitomo Forestry has made all of these corporate ads available on a dedicated website. This ad campaign visually represents the company’s commitment to social responsibility and contributions to a sustainable society.
