This year’s finals will be held on Saturday, November 23rd, at the Rankoshi Community Development Center, with preliminary judging taking place from Monday, October 21st to Monday, October 28th. During the preliminary judging, students and instructors from culinary schools nationwide will conduct tasting evaluations to select the top 30 entries. These top entries will then undergo final evaluation during the finals, where the Grand Prix, Runner-Up, Gold Prize, Silver Prize, and Bronze Prize will be awarded.
Speaking on behalf of the organizing committee, they expressed, “Through this competition, we aim to further improve the skills of Japan’s rice producers and gain high praise from consumers.” Additionally, there is an open call for general judges, and anyone over the age of 20 is eligible to apply.
