Duskin Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Suita, Osaka, President: Hiroyuki Okubo) has launched a special web content titled “AI Predicts the Future of Dirt and Cleaning in 2044,” where AI forecasts the future of household dirt and cleaning methods. The content hints that by 2044, advancements in AI could significantly reduce the time spent on cleaning.
Revolutionizing Cleaning with AI and Drastically Reducing Housework Time
Since its founding in 1963, Duskin has been committed to researching cleaning. To mark the 20th year of its year-end cleaning survey in 2024, the company released a special web content titled “AI Predicts the Future of Dirt and Cleaning in 2044.” This content explores how cleaning and dirt management may change in the future across six categories: kitchens, bathrooms, toilets, living rooms, windows, and clothing.
With the increase in time spent at home due to the rise of remote work, AI advancements by 2044 could lead to kitchen concierge systems that handle everything from meal suggestions to post-cooking clean-up. Moreover, with the introduction of self-cleaning countertops and sinks that repel dirt, it is expected that daily cleaning time will shrink to just five minutes. This shift may transform the notion of cleaning from a laborious task into simple, routine maintenance.
In 2044, futuristic cleaning tools may also include innovations such as genetically modified plants that consume dirt, known as “Eco-Pet Plants,” and air purifiers that read emotions and adjust scents accordingly, called “Mood-Link Fragrance.” Through these predictions, Duskin aims to present new ideas for a sustainable and comfortable living environment.
As AI technology evolves, the way we approach cleaning is expected to change dramatically in the coming decades.
