The “7th Skin-Beautifying Spring Quality” has both the function of enhancing the protective function of the stratum corneum cells and a cleansing effect that removes excess sebum.
POLA ORBIS HOLDINGS has been advancing scientific research on the skin-beautifying effects of hot springs. Six types of skin-beautifying spring qualities were previously known, but this latest research has confirmed one additional new skin-beautifying effect. The hot spring recognized as the “7th Skin-Beautifying Spring Quality” has been found to have both a function that enhances the protective function of the stratum corneum cells and a cleansing effect that removes unnecessary sebum. Specifically, this new effect was confirmed at Kuroyu Natural Hot Spring (SPA & HOTEL Nagomi) in Ota City, Tokyo.
With this discovery, the total number of skin-beautifying spring qualities has reached seven, deepening the understanding of how each spring quality affects the skin. These spring qualities are classified based on their effects on the stratum corneum cells and sebum. The scientific elucidation of each spring quality’s skin-beautifying effects, such as the protection of the stratum corneum and cleansing effects, is expected to expand the options for choosing hot springs.
